Tortious Interference

Tortious interference involves the deliberate and intentional interference with contractual relations by a person or business. It is the intentional damage of a person's business or contractual relationships with deliberate intent of harm rather than negligence. Tortious inducement of breach of contract involves an offending party (legally termed the tortfeasor) either convincing a party to breach a contract or disrupting or preventing a contractual party from performing their contractual obligations. Tortious interference with prospective business relations, expectations, or overt and/or potential economic advantage involves the offending party acting to prevent a business or person from establishing successful business relationships or to prevent ongoing business relationships from continuing successfully for that person or business. It can include the offending party conducting themselves in a manner that causes parties to decide not to enter into a business agreement or sign contracts that they normally would have entered into or signed with a person or business had the offending party nor interfered in the business relationship.
